Many Nexus owners were waiting for Google to release the factory images and binaries of Android 4.4 KitKat for Nexus devices. Google has finally released the factory images and binaries for Nexus 4, all variants Of Nexus 7 (2012 and 2013) and Nexus 10.
These binary image files that are released by Google can be used for restoring your Nexus device to original factory firmware or it can be even used to upgrade your Nexus device to Android 4.4 kitkat if your device is on Android 4.3 jellybean and yet to receive an OTA update.
If you own any one of the nexus device from the list above and can’t wait for the OTA update to arrive on your device, then you can download the factory image for your device and can flash it on the device to upgrade to Android 4.4 Kitkat. Keep in mind, this is not for even average users and unless you are not sure of what you are doing , you shouldn’t try it.
The flashing may also result in wiping up of all your data on your device.
We may cover this flashing process in some future post with detailed instructions on how to do it.
