Google is rolling out Android 5.1.1 OTA update to its Nexus 4 devices in India. We already received this OTA update on our Nexus 4 and most users in India must be getting it very soon, if they haven’t. This is a very minor update which addresses critical bug fixes for memory leak issues and stability improvements. In terms of file size, the 5.1.1 OTA update is just 18.1 MB in size.
The factory images for Android 5.1.1 (LMY47V) for Nexus 4 are already available for download from Google servers if you are in a hurry. But keep in mind that flashing factory images is not for an average user and you should wait for the OTA update to arrive if you are not a geek.
If you haven’t received the OTA notification yet, you can check it manually by navigating to Settings > About device > System updates > Check for update. Also, keep in mind that you must have the stock recovery installed to install this 5.1.1 OTA update (it’s there by default, unless you installed a custom recovery such as TWRP).
