The Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update for the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge has been released.
The news comes directly from the South Korean Electronics giant, who announced it on its blog.
To be honest, it has been over three months since Google launched Marshmallow, and a flagship phone should have gotten it much earlier. Nevertheless, it sure is a welcome bit of news indeed. The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update is more special for the Galaxy S6 Edge, as it brings an enhanced edge screen and some new edge screen features.
The Enhanced Screen is an update for the Edge panel, which has been resized from 260 pixels wide to 550 pixels, to enable more content to be displayed.
There are several new Edge Screens as well. People edge panel now displays contacts and names, the App edge panel now allows ten apps to be added (prior option was five), and also add folders too. The Tasks edge panel has shortcuts for the most frquently used app featurs and tasks (S Planner, Alarm, SMS etc).
It also has some Quick tools like a a ruler, compass and a customizable flashlight. The Edge handle (side bar) can be customized as well (location, size and transparency)
