Xiaomi has officially released the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the Xiaomi Mi 3, Mi 4 & the Mi Note.
The update is available for everyone, and is in the form of a Global Beta ROM.
So, you can expect a few bugs. but hopefully nothing major. Download the MIUI Global Beta ROM 6.3.17 for the devices from the official website.
The update for the Mi 3 and the Mi 4 weighs a massive 1082 MB and has the MD5 checksum value: MD5: e94437bc6c258a62507a863791a71376.
The Marshmallow update for the Mi Note also has a similar download size and has the MD5 value: e40c1fbe7956b8957638b02ece645e0c.
The update brings several new features including wireless transfer between devices with Explorer without using internet, new UI design for Explorer, Permission Manager for managing app permissions, Account Lock in Mi Cloud and more.
It has taken Xiaomi well over a year and a half to update the Mi 4 from Android KitKat to a newer version of the operating system. It also makes it the only company to entirely skip a whole version of Android, i.e., Lollipop, and update it directly to Marshmallow.
