Android 7.0 Nougat could be released on August 22nd according to Canadian mobile carrier, Telus. The company usually posts a roadmap for future updates on its website, and this time it has mentioned the availability of Android N.
The news was first spotted by Mobile Syrup, and you can view the official thread on the Telus website. The image below shows the Telus roadmap.
It appears that the Google Nexus 6P and the Nexus 5X will be the first to get the Android 7.0 Update on August 22nd. The timing isn’t really a surprise as Google did announce a Q3 release (as indicated by the first image above). Hopefully the Nexus 6 will get it soon as well.
This also means that the Android N source code will be available to OEMs much earlier this year, and also to custom ROM makers like Cyanogenmod, which will provide some nutty goodness for our devices.
