Motorola has confirmed that their flagship device, the Moto X will be receiving the Android L update.
The news came in an unusual way, but not one that we haven’t seen yet.
It was from a Google+ post, but it wasn’t an announcement from the company, rather it was in a reply to a query from a user named Josh B. He posted the following question at the Moto X community at G+:
Moto X is still going to get Android L (5.0) right?
To which Motorola’s VP of Product Management, Punit Soni replied, “Yup”. Soni also expressed his disappointment, relating to carrier updates, when a user joked that his Moto X from AT&T would receive Android L by the time Google releases Android N.
“Sad. We really try to speed things up”, Soni said in response to the user, and taking a jab at carriers to do their job quickly.
So, there you go. The Moto X will definitely get the Android L update.
Will the Moto G also receive Android L? I think it is safe to assume it will.
