In the Google I/O keynote, Google promised Android L to provide some real boost to battery life and we do hope that Google really means what it said during the keynote as battery drain is one of the major issues that Smartphone users face. As the developer preview of Android L is now available for Nexus 5 & 7, we get some sneak peak in some of the upcoming features of Android L.
One of the features that seems hidden well inside the Android L is the presence of “Low Power Mode” and it is buried deep inside the settings. Unless you enable the Developer options, you wont get access to this Low Power Mode in Android L. The description of “Low Power Mode” says that it enables the battery saving settings.
Keep in mind that this feature or setting is in addition to Battery Saver mode located under Settings -> Battery. At this moment, we are not sure how effective both these modes are in saving the battery life of the Android smartphone, but hopefully when the final version of Android L is released later, we will have much better idea about it.
