Google has announced the latest Android Platform Version Distribution Numbers for July.
And according to the stats, Android Lollipop now runs on 18.1% of devices.
The latest iteration of Google’s operating system, Android 5.1 runs on just 2.6% of devices, whereas Android 5.0 holds a 15.5% share. That still is a decent increase in the numbers as the two combined held a 12.4% usage share as seen in the Distribution Numbers for June.
KitKat somehow managed to see a 0.1% increase from 39.2 to 39.3% instead of dropping further. Jellybean’s usage numbers dropped from 37.4% to 33.6%. Usage stats of both Ice Cream Sandwich and Gingerbread have fallen by 1% each, and now stand at 4.1% and 4.6% respectively. Froyo is the only one of the lot which retained its share at 0.3%.
Android M has not been taken into account, since it has not been released yet.
