Honor India has officially announced the Release Candidate version for Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for some of its popular phones. This is a bit of a surprise, since the company had earlier been announcing that the updates would arrive at the end of May, and we expected it to be the stable version, and not a beta test or release version.
The Android 6.0 update is available for the following devices: Honor 5X, Honor 6, Honor 6 Plus, and the Honor 4C.
To register for the Release Candidate, visit this page, and submit the required information, by filling up the form given there. This includes your phone model number, the software version (OS Build number), your Honor phone’s IMEI Number and your email address. Once you apply, your device will be approved after some time, and will be eligible to receive the update OTA (over the air).
The final version of the Android Marshmallow Update for the Honor 5X, Honor 6, Honor 6 Plus, Honor 4C is expected to be released after about three weeks by the Huawei owned company, after the “release version” test is over.
