ASUS had prepared a surprise news during the launch event of the Zenfone Max M2 and Zenfone Max Pro M2 today. The company announced the ETA for the Android Pie Update for ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M1 and Zenfone 5Z.
Android Pie Update for ASUS Zenfone 5Z release date
The ASUS Zenfone 5Z, which is the company’s flagship, is getting priority treatment, and will get the Android Pie Update earlier than the other phones. The OTA will be rolled out to users in January 2019.
Android Pie Update for ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M1 release date
The mid-range device which runs a near stock version of Android, will get the Android Pie Update a month later, i.e., in February 2019.
ASUS has a fairly good track record when it comes to updates, so we aren’t exactly surprised with the release date of the Android Pie Update for Zenfone Max Pro M1 and Zenfone 5Z.
What is surprising here, is the attention that the company is showing to a now-older phone, especially considering that its successor was launched today.
We are expecting ASUS to open a beta test program for the Android Pie Update for ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M1 and Zenfone 5Z, before the stable rollout begins.
