The Android Pie Update for Galaxy M20 is rolling out in India, ahead of schedule. The OTA update was planned for June 3rd, but it seems it has been made available earlier.
The update is also available for the Galaxy M10 and M30.
What’s new in the Android Pie Update for Galaxy M20, M10 and M30?
The devices have been upgraded to Android Pie, with the May 2019 Android Security Patch.
The most important feature in the Android Pie Update for Galaxy M20, M10 and M30, is that it brings OneUI to the mid-range phones. This is the new interface which debuted on Samsung’s Galaxy S10 flagship line-up this year.
This brings new features and design elements including Night Mode, options to reply directly from the notifications panel, Unicode 11.0 emojis, floating keyboard, etc. Other changes included revamped apps for Phone, Contacts, Camera, Gallery, My Files, etc.
According to Sammobile, the Galaxy M10 won’t get the new Scene optimizer for the camera app.
Android Pie Update for Galaxy M20, M10 and M30 download size
The Galaxy M10 Android Pie Update weighs about 926 MB, but the M20’s update is twice as big at 1883 MB. The OTA download size for the Galaxy M30 is about 1144 MB.
The Android Pie Update for Galaxy M20, M10 and M30 is being seeded currently, and should reach out to all users soon. You can also manually check for updates by navigating to the Settings app > Software update > Download updates.
Samsung will announce a new phone in the series, called the Galaxy M40, on June 11th in India.
