Realme has caused quite a stir in the mid-range market, with devices that have incredible tech specs for the price. And the company has now announced that the Android Pie Update for Realme 1 and Realme 2 will be released soon.
The devices currently run on Android Oreo 8.1, with OPPO’s ColorOS 5.1 on top. The news about the Android Pie Update comes via Realme India’s support account on Twitter. And it is not surprising.

A few days ago, the company announced that it is planning to launch a beta version of ColorOS 5.2 for testers. That is nothing but the Android Pie Update for Realme 1 and 2.
This will be released on November 25th, or later, though the Realme 2 Pro hasn’t been mentioned by name, we are quite sure that the device is also set to get the new Android version like the non-Pro variant.
In the meantime, the company says that it has plans to roll out an OTA for the Realme 2 and Realme C1 to update them with the November Security patch from Google’s Android Security Bulletin, on Wednesday the 15th. The Realme 2 Pro will get an OTA update on November 20th, which will bring fixes for the developer options, a headset icon, and swipe to dismiss notifications.
When will the stable version of Android Pie Update for Realme be released?
There is no word about this yet, but we can safely assume that it may be a few weeks or a month after the beta test has been finished.
The Roadmap of the Android Pie Update for Realme seems to indicate that the company will be providing updates faster than most OEMs, except perhaps Nokia. Other big names in the mid-range market like ASUS and Xiaomi are yet to announce anything about updating their devices to Android Pie. Xiaomi is unlikely to update its phones to Pie so soon, at least as far as the Redmi lineup is concerned.
Looks like Realme is the new Moto.
