The Apple Music Classical app for Android is now available on the Google Play Store. The app debuted on iOS in March.
Apple acquired a service called Primephonic in 2021, that specialized in the classical music genre. The regular Apple Music app provides users a library of songs from various genres such as pop, rock, hip-hop, bollywood songs, etc.
Features in Apple Music Classical app for Android
Apple Music Classical is a dedicated app that you may use to listen to classical music content such as operas that were composed by Mozart, Beethoven, and orchestrated music from around the world. The Apple Music Classical app for Android has over 5 million tracks and has various playlists curated by experts, so even beginners can get started with the essential playlists. The app allows you to search music by composers, work, conductors, catalogue number and specific recordings.
Unlike Apple Music, Apple Music Classical does not allow users to download music for offline listening, i.e. you will need a network connection to stream the music. The service supports up to 24 bit/192 kHz Hi-Res Lossless audio quality.
While the Apple Music Classical app for Android is free to download from the Google Play Store, you will need an active Apple Music subscription to access the content in it. It is not supported in the Apple Music Voice plan, which is the cheapest tier, so you will need an Individual, Student, Family or Apple One plan to access Apple Music Classical.
