The ASUS Padfone S has finally been updated to Android Lollipop.
A month ago, ASUS had released the Android 5.0 Update for the Zenfone 5 and the Zenfone 6.
The device for which the update is being rolled out is the Padfone S (PF500KL). Your device need to be on the firmware: WW: 11.10.7.18 to receive the OTA update WW_ V12.2.2.21.
The update removes the following apps from the firmware: Battery widget, ASUS Miracast dongle Tool, PadFone Station Assistant, Magic Smoke Wallpapers, Movie Studio and Story.
However, the update also adds a slew of new apps:
- Bbbler Actors, Zinio, Clean Master, TripAdvisor,
- ASUS Auto-start Service Manager
- ASUS Backup – allows you to backup ASUS ZenUI Apps, save and restore call logs, personal settings, app data.
ASUS has also fixed issues related to flickering in the ASUS browser, and the issue which caused lost files after a folder name was changed in the File Manager.
The update has been rolled out and should be available to all devices soon. You can also download it manually from ASUS’ website.
