Asus under their ROG (Republic of Gamers) brand has consistently launched laptops and desktops specifically customised & designed for gamers. Rumors have been afloat on the web suggesting that the company is already working on a new ROG gaming smartphone. We have already seen gaming smartphones from Razer, followed by Xiaomi’s Black Shark and ZTE Nubia Red Magic.
The company has scheduled a ROG event on June 5th at Taiwan exhibition Computex. The event teaser comes with a tagline of “FOR THOSE WHO DARE” and “UNLEASH YOU CREATIVE POWER” suggesting a new product, which in our opinion may be the Asus ROG gaming smartphone. The event is scheduled for June 5th 2018 at 11:30 AM (UTC +8) local time.
At the moment, there is no information available on the hardware specifications of the device or even any clue on the name of the device. But we can safely assume it to be powered by hi-end hardware with possible a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core chipset powering the device as it’s the most powerful SoC chip currently. In terms of RAM, we can expect 8GB of RAM and a high-refresh rate display for smooth gaming experience.
In spite of this launch event teaser, we still need to wait for some official confirmation before we can be sure that Asus is indeed launching a ROG (Republic of Gamers) branded smartphones. Stay tuned at Androidpure and we will keep you updated.
