The next gaming phone from ASUS is set to be unveiled next month. But it will be called the ROG Phone 5, the company is skipping the number 4 just like OnePlus did with its 4th generation.
The Taiwanese OEM has a teaser page up on its official website, which mentions the ROG Phone 5 launch date. The device will be announced on March 9th.
We got a glimpse of the phone about a month ago in a leaked hands-on video. Later, the gaming handset was spotted on TENAA.
The ASUS ROG Phone 5 has a secondary display on its back panel, which will display notifications. Thanks to rumours, we know that the phone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor, and runs on Android 11 out of the box.
The device is expected to come in 2 variants with 8GB and 16GB of RAM. The ASUS ROG Phone 5 is said to sport a 6.78-inches AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, and an in-display fingerprint scanner.
The triple lenses on the back panel has a 64MP primary sensor. In terms of connectivity, the device will support 5G mobile networks. The ASUS ROG Phone 5 will be backed by a massive 6,000 mAh battery with support for 65W fast charging.
The successor to the ROG Phone 3 seems to have a secondary USB port on the side, when we learn more about the device.
