The next gaming phone from ASUS is almost here. The Taiwan based company has confirmed that it will launch the ASUS ROG Phone 6 globally on July 5th.
A few weeks ago, Android Central shared some images of a device from Republic of Gamers. This is said to the ROG Phone 6. The 5G smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s latest flagship processor, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. The device reportedly scored about 1311 points in the single core test on a Geekbench test, and 4211 points in the benchmark for the multi-core test.
The ASUS ROG Phone 6 is expected to sport a large 6.7-inches display, which is likely an AMOLED panel. The screen could support a refresh rate of 144Hz or higher, and a high touch sampling rate. It could have dual USB Type-C ports, one at the bottom and one on the side. If history is any indication, the gaming phone will retain the 3.5mm headphone jack and dual stereo speakers. And of course, it will also feature its traditional gaming triggers, aka shoulder buttons to allow players to react quickly, especially in competitive games like PUBG.
The ASUS ROG Phone 6 will be launched via a virtual event, which will be streamed live at 8PM in Taipei, 2PM in Berlin, and 8AM in New York. The tech giant is also prepping to introduce new accessories and gaming headphones for its fans.
