ASUS launched its 2015 flagship phone, the Zenfone 2 in India last week.
It is the first phone in the World to feature 4GB RAM.
ASUS CEO, Jerry Shen, spoke to Yuga Tech, and the interview reveals some interesting information about the company’s plans.
ASUS is reportedly going to use Intel processors for mid-high end devices, while its mainstream devices will use Qualcomm chipsets.
Shen confirmed that ASUS isn’t going for high-end chipsets such as the Snapdragon 808 or 810. Instead, it is touted to go for a Snapdragon 615. The SD 615 is a 64-bit octa-core processor, and is used in mid-range devices like the Xiaomi Mi 4i, and the HTC Desire 826.
The interview also reveals that ASUS will continue its naming convention similar to what Apple does, (iphone 4, 5, 6 and so on) . So, the next gen device from ASUS could be the Zenfone 3.
