Earlier this week, we reported that the ASUS Zenfone 3 could be launched on May 30th. While we await news about the 2016 flagship phone from the Taiwan company, a midrange variant of the Zenfone 3 has been spotted online.
GFXBench lists the ASUS Zenfone 3 Z012D on its website, as a phone powered by a 2.0GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC, with 3GB of RAM and an Adreno 506 GPU.
The phone reportedly runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow (likely with Zen UI on top), and sports a 5.5-inch Full HD 1080p display. The Zenfone 3 Zo12D has just 16GB of storage, and an 8 megapixel front camera. The rest of the technical specifications remains a mystery.
According to leakster Roland Quandt, there will be a second variant of this phone with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 chipset.
This gives hope to the fact a better flagship phone is coming, likely with 4GB RAM and a better processor, maybe the Snapdragon 820? We don;t know for sure at the moment.
