As Androidpure reported, Asus is set to announce new smartphones in India during the launch event scheduled for September 14. Even though we were expecting the company to announce the Zenfone 4 series flagship devices to be launched in India along with mid range or entry-level devices, it seems that it may not be happening.
Androidpure has learned from Sources that Asus is going to announce only the Zenfone 4 Selfie series smartphones on September 14 and no other Zenfone 4 series device will be launched on that day. There are only two smartphones under Zenfone 4 Selfie series i.e. Zenfone 4 Selfie and Selfie Pro. We have also learned that these Zenfone 4 selfie and Selfie Pro devices will be available for sale exclusively through Flipkart.
Both these devices can be considered as top entry-level or mid-range devices in terms of pricing and specifications and it seems that Asus is trying to concentrate on the entry-level / Mid-range Smartphone segment in India by delaying the launch of the flagship Zenfone 4 Pro powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor.
