The ASUS Zenfone 5 Android Pie Update beta has been released. The company had announced that the update would be released in January 2019, for the Zenfone 5Z, but the FOTA for the lower end variant has appeared out of the blue.
The news was originally reported a week ago by AndroidPit Brazil, but we have seen Taiwan and Global users have begun posting feedback about the update on the official ASUS Zentalk forums. So, it is a global update after all.
The update patches the firmware to 16.0610.1812.52, and according to the comments it is the stable version, and not a beta.
The update is only for the Zenfone 5 ZE620KL. Do not download or try it on other models.
With that out of the way, the download link for the Zenfone 5 Android Pie Update is available at the end of this article. (linked as the Source). The Zenfone 5 Android Pie Update beta weighs about 1.12GB to download.
Some users on the official forums have said that they got the Pie OTA, when they manually checked for updates. That’s a pretty impressive job by ASUS. Hopefully the company will release the Android Pie update for the Zenfone 5Z and the Max Pro M1 as scheduled.
