A couple of weeks back, we reported about some price cuts for the Zenfone series, which brought down the price of the 5″ phone from Rs. 9,999 to Rs. 9499.
Now, ASUS has announced that it will be selling a new variant of the Zenfone 5 for an even lesser price, on occasion of the Indian Republic Day.
The Zenfone 5 was originally launched with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, but an update for Android 4.4 KitKat is already available. ASUS has promised to update the device to Android 5.0 Lollipop soon.
Also worth noting is that this phone comes with a 1.2 Ghz Dual Core Intel Atom Z2520 Processor with Intel Hyper Threading Technology. The original Zenfone 5 has a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom Z2560 processor. The rest of the internals remains the same.
