The ASUS Zenfone 8 global launch event has been set for May 12th. The flagship phone will succeed the Zenfone 7, that was announced last year.
Not much is known about the upcoming phone, save for a few specs that were leaked in a benchmark recently. The Zenfone 8 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G processor, and runs on Android 11 out of the box. The device is said to be equipped with a 120Hz AMOLED display.
The ASUS Zenfone 8 is expected to support 30W fast charging like the ROG Phone 5. The upcoming device could also pack a similar camera setup with a 64MP primary lens.
According to the official promo, the ASUS Zenfone 8 will be unveiled at 1PM (UTC -5), which is about 6:30 PM IST. The launch event will be streamed live and the time zones mentioned on ASUS’ site confirms that the device will be available in North America, Taiwan, and Europe.
It remains unclear whether the ASUS Zenfone 8 will be launched in India. So far there has been no official word from the company’s Indian social media accounts, and considering the fact that the Zenfone 7 wasn’t launched here, we wouldn’t be totally surprised if the latest model doesn’t make its way to our shores.
