Asus is rolling out a new update for the Zenfone Max Pro M1. No, it’s still not the Android 10 Update.
This one is mostly a bug fix patch, which we will refer to as the Zenfone Max Pro M1 16.2017.2002.061 update because that’s the version number. The device had been on the 16.2017.1912.060 firmware prior to this update.
Though it was announced earlier this month, the update was only released on a grand scale over last weekend.
What’s new in the ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M1 16.2017.2002.061 update
The first thing that’s new in the update is the February Security Patch. ASUS is not the only one which is rolling out last month’s patch in March, which is a sad story in itself. The previous security patch was from December 2019. The release notes reveal that the Max Pro M1’s APN list has been updated. The bug which prevented the time zone from changing automatically has been resolved.
One common error that was reported by users was the annoying notification that randomly popped up saying “Gallery is Running”. The Zenfone Max Pro M1 16.2017.2002.061 update addresses this error. Russian users should no longer see a garbled string for the “Do Not Disturb Suggestion”.
The download size of the Zenfone Max Pro M1 16.2017.2002.061 update is about 115MB. It is valid for the device with the model number ZB602KL. The full image which is about 1.53GB to download is available on the official support portal, in case you haven’t received the update and want to flash it manually.
