If you own a ZenFone Zoom (ZX551KL) smartphone and have waited to get OTA update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow, then here is some good news for you. The Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA update for Zenfone Zoom is now available for download from Asus servers. The OTA update comes with a version 4.21.40.74 and is 1.15 GB in terms of file size.
The update brings Android 6.0 Marshmallow to the Zenfone Zoom and hence brings the features associated with the new operating system. As ZenUI from ASUS runs on top of the operating system, hence you won’t feel much difference in terms of looks. The update though breaks the APP2SD feature and won’t be supported in Android 6.0 (Marshmallow). Hence you need to move your SDcard apps to the internal storage of the phone before system upgrade.
Users can download the firmware manually from Asus official website.
THe update also removes Multi-user and SnapView support. It also gets rid of most of the pre-loaded apps from the smartphone and they wont be available after the update. The list of all these apps can be found in the source link at the end of the post. Most of these are termed as bloatware at Androidpure.
The Marshmallow update adds apps such as Google Calendar, Google Messenger, Facebook Messenger and Instagram.
