Okay, this is a very strange scenario here, but its actually good news: Avast Mobile Security and Avast Cleanup are back on the Google Play Store.
A few days ago, both apps were removed from the Mountain View company’s app market, with no official explanation from Avast, despite numerous queries from its users.
Yesterday, Avast announced that Google had suspended the apps, because of the way Avast distributes/recommends its other apps. The statement did not detail what exactly caused Google to remove the apps, but reiterated that the apps would be back on the Play Store soon. Even though the apps have been restored, Avast still remains mum on the temporary suspension.
Now there is a further mystery hidden right under our noses. Look at the Play Store listings for both the apps in question, and you will observe that Avast Mobile Security (4.0.7891) was last updated on 23rd July 2015, while Avast Cleanup (1.2.0) was updated on 2nd August 2015.
So, it is obvious that they have not been updated, and my guess is Avast has rolled back to some older version, prior to the suspension.
