Google has announed a new feature for users in India. You will be able to book a cab directly from Google search results in India. But there is are couple of catches.
The only supported services, are Ola and Uber. As you can see from the above image, simply searching for directions to a place, will not only tell you how long to get there and the map for it, but also an option to choose one of the two ride-hailing options, along with the fare estimates for the ride.
The other catch is that, this new feature, still requires you to have the ride service’s app installed on your device. If you don’t have the app, you will be redirected to the Play Store/App Store listing for the service you selected.
You can also use Voice Search to query for a destination, and book an Ola or an Uber from Google Search.
