Crescent Moon Games has released a free ad-supported version of its popular Science-Fiction Role Playing Game, Exiles.
It is an open world game, and lets you play as one of three available classes. The player will uncover a conspiracy of the Goverment on a distant planet, and will also battle fight aliens.
The game has a variety of weapons which the player can use and upgrade, as well as vehicles like Mechs and Hoverbikes to travel across the landscape. The game features a Day/Night system, and even has real-time shadows.
The CEO of Crescent Moon Games, Josh, confirmed that the studio is releasing a separate free ad-supported version of Exiles, while retaining the premium ad-free version ath the Play Store. The move comes after the developers drew a lot of flak last week, when two premium games went freeware with advertisements. Many previous buyers were furious to see the game the paid for showing ads.
This is what Josh says in an email:
Even after adding precautions so that previous buyers wouldn’t be affected by the ‘going free’, we still offended a lot of people and would like to apologize for that.
