Custom ROM developers, CyanogenMod have released yet another public beta of one of their applications.
GalleryNext will be a replacement for the AOSP Gallery app.
The CM developers feel that the Gallery in the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) lacks features, and they wish to bring a newer Gallery app with better features.
Notable features include the support for cloud storage, video playback support and GIF animations.
Features of CyanogenMod GalleryNext:
View all your pictures in one centralized location
Cloud services integration with Flickr, Picasa (G+), Facebook, and Dropbox
Moments support (automatic grouping and classification of media based on metadata)
Video playback support
Gif support
Deduplication in ‘All’ view
and more
They have already run out of Dropbox tokens, so that will not work for now.
CM also plan to include support for editing images, and support for KitKat’s immersive mode, i.e Full screen mode amongst other features.
How to apply for the beta program:
1. Join the CyanogenMod GalleryNext Beta community.
2.Open this page and click on the Apply to be a beta tester button.
3. Download the app from the Play Store.
If you skip any one of these steps, you will not be able to download the app.
And unlike other apps from CyanogenMod, the GalleryNext app will work on Android versions 1.6 and up.
Note: Since this is a beta, you may encounter various bugs.
