If you remember, Yota Devices launched world’s first dual-screen, always-on smartphone in December 2013 in Russia. In continuation to that the next generation YotaPhone was unveiled today at Mobile World Congress (MWC) with full-touch control on its always-on electronic paper display (EPD).
The first generation of Yota Smartphone allowed users to access notifications and other important information automatically on it’s always-on display. In this second generation, users can open and respond to these notifications, mails and SMSs with just one touch, without having to wake up and activate the color display.
This dual screen device is powered by 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 MSM8974 processor and Adreno 330 GPU with 2GB of RAM. In terms of Display, the device front display sports a 5-inch AMOLED with a HD resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and pixel density of 442 ppi.The rear E-ink display is 4.7-inch (960 × 540 pixels) EPD full touch screen.
It sports a 32GB of internal memory with no support for microSD card (perhaps but we are not sure). In terms of Camera, it features an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. You need a nano-SIM to use in this device just like the latest iPhone 5.
