Motorola is yet to update some of its popular devices from Android KitKat to Android 5.0 Lollipop, in some regions.
These include the first generation Moto X, Moto E, and the Moto G LTE.
The 5.0 updates for these devices are being tested in some markets, but according to Motorola’s Senior Director of Software Product Management, David Schuster, all three devices will skip the update. Instead, the company will update the phones to Android 5.1 directly.
Android 5.1 includes several improvements over 5.0, including fixes for memory leaks which reportedly originated in the first version of Lollipop.
Motorola is yet to announce when the three devices in question will be updated to 5.1. So far, none of Motorola’s devices have been updated to 5.1 yet, save for the Moto G GPE, which has begun receiving the the Android 5.1 OTA Update from Google, since yesterday.
