It is the “Attack Of The Clones”. No we are not talking about Star Wars, it is the attack of the Flappy Bird clones.
I am sure you remember the game we all loved and hated, Flappy Bird. It’s been a while since it hit the news, but there have been an endless number of games similar to it were available on several platforms.
In fact, there were so many that both Google and Apple, banned the use of Flappy in an app’s title. As if that would stop the cloners, yeah right! But not all Flappy Clones were good. Here are two which are not only fun to play, but also offer some satire.
FlapThulhu
This is the first of the two games from Noodlecake today. FYI, the title is a play on the words Flappy Bird and Cthulhu (the mythical creature with the Octopus face and wings).
You play flap as Ctulhu FlapThulhu, and have to guide him through the gates of R’lyeh, and unleash the Madness to open a portal to the eldritch dimension. I am not sure if that makes sense, but it does sound cool.
The game offers two modes:
Fight mode, where you beat up lesser monsters as you fly through a disgusting cave.
and Shoggoth which lets you unleash and play as a new horrible beast.
Some of the game’s stunning features are:
- Flapping like flappy bird
- Fighting
- Madness
Ph’nglui mglw’nafh Flapthulhu R’lyeh wgah’nagl flaptagn!
I did not make up the above line, it is in the app’s description. No idea what it means, sorry!

HodappyBird
This is the other game they released, and which is named in honour of Eli Hodapp (Editor of the popular blog Touch Arcade).
Both games where developed by Madgarden, of PunchQuest fame.
You have to guide HodappyBird through the pipe district of Chicago. Oh and it has bit coins, as an in-game currency. You can spend them to buy hats and glasses for Hodappy, or use them as a life saver, aka continues (when its game over).

That was one crazy post! Happy Flapping!
