Fleksy is a name which we all have grown to love, thanks to the keyboard app’s incredibly accurate typing, which allowed users to input words really fast, and the gesture controls for deleting, word prediction and more.

But something odd has happened to it. The keyboard app has not been updated for quite a while, which led to rumours that it had reached its end. Actually, those are the signs of an app being discontinued or being acquired.

And this is exactly what has happened. Fleksy Keyboard has been acquired by Pinterest. Now, why on Earth, the photo sharing service acquired a keyboard app remains a mystery and the official blogpost announcement, suggests that the keyboard;s future could change.

More specifically it states,

Fleksy will remain available in the app stores for the foreseeable future.

Better save a copy of the APK, just in case.

Also, Fleksy has announced it will be open sourcing some components of the keyboard app which are used by blind and visually impaired users. This is good news, and deserves a Kudos.
