Samsung has tested different beta builds to select beta testers for last few weeks. The last build offered to these beta testers was the fifth Android 7.0 Nougat beta version for Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge smartphones. The company has finally decided to end the Android Nougat Galaxy Beta Program for these two devices today i.e. 30th december which obviously indicate that the official version of Nougat update will be arriving soon. New information or leak originating on Chinese social network Weibo in the form of “Beta Notices” to existing beta users, indicate that the official update of Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge Nougat will be arriving in January itself.
Though no specific date is mentioned, yet January is clearly mentioned in the “Beta Notice” from Galaxy Beta Programme Team. Considering that it may take at least two to three weeks before they can fix the last-minute bugs / issues, we may expect the official Android 7.0 Nougat update for S7 and S7 Edge may arrive during the fourth week of January 2017. Earlier rumors had pointed to Samsung jumping directly to Android 7.1 for their flagship devices, recent reports indicate that users will be getting the Android 7.0 builds only.
