Gionee launched M6 along with M6 Plus smartphones a year back in July 2016 and we may soon have the their successor as Gionee M7. The company seems to be working on unveiling the Gionee M7 as a new device Gionee M7 has just surfaced on the benchmarking portal Gfxbench revealing some of the major hardware specifications.
Even though the Gfxbench listing lists the device as Gionee M7, we think that the device is indeed the Gionee M7 Plus thanks to presence of bigger display of 6.0 inch and the hardware specification. As per the Gfxbench listing, Gionee M7 (Plus) sports a 6.0 inch display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels, which is odd considering the Full HD display comes with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a 2K display comes with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels suggests an unconventional aspect ratio 2:1 for smartphones, though we are not so sure about this.
Gionee M7 (Plus) is powered by an octa-core Mediatek MT6758 processor clocked at 2.3 GHz along with Mali G71 GPU and 6 GB of RAM. Mediatek MT6758 processor may be the upcoming Mediatek Helio P23 SOC chip. The phone comes with 64 GB of internal storage and runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat based operating system.
In terms of camera, Gionee M7 (Plus) comes with 16 MP main rear camera with support for 4K (UHD) video recording while on the front, it features a 8 MP front shooter for selfies. It includes sensors such as NFC, Proximity Sensor etc. The listing doesn’t reveal details such as battery capacity.
At the moment, Gionee is yet to reveal any official launch date of M7 or M7 Plus. Thanks to this gfxbench listing, we can safely assume that official launch of M7 along with M7 Plus may happen soon. As with any other leak, take this pinch of salt. Stay tuned at Androidpure and we will keep you updated.
