Gionee is teasing the launch of its return to the Indian market with a new device. The upcoming phone will be called the Gionee Max.
As the name hints, the device will boast a massive battery. A teaser page for the phone on Flipkart confirms that the Gionee Max is backed by a 5000 mAh battery.
The page also shows off the design of the phone. The Gionee Max has a screen with a water-drop notch for the selfie camera. Despite its modern aesthetics, the bezels on the device are quite large.
According to the Flipkart teaser page, Gionee held a survey for a budget phone, and most people voted for a minimum battery capacity of 4,500 mAh.
It also says that users expect a minimum screen size of 5.6-inches.
The main attractive feature of the Gionee Max will undoubtedly be its price. The company says that the phone will be priced below Rs. 6,000. Given the low price, it is likely to be an entry level phone with a HD+ screen, and may not have a fingerprint scanner, fast charging or a USB Type-C port.
The Gionee Max will be launched on August 25th in India. We can expect more features of the device to be revealed as we approach the announcement date.
