Gionee has launched Gionee S8 at ongoing Mobile World Congress 2016. Along with the new flagship, Gionee also a new logo and “Make Smiles” as its new purpose statement. Gionee S8 sports a full metal body featuring a 5.5 inch full HD AMOLED display with 3D touch along with 2.5D arc glass & Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection.
S8 is powered by 1.95 GHz Octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 (MT6755) processor with Mali T860MP2 GPU and 4 GB of RAM. It comes with 64GB Internal memory along with support for expandable storage up to 128 GB with micro SD card. It runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) operating system with Gionee own Amigo OS 3.2 on top of it.
In terms of camera, it sports a 16MP main rear camera with LED flash, f/1.8 aperture, 6P lenses, PDAF, Laser AF and a 8 MP front-facing camera.
It comes with a Hybrid Dual SIM (micro + nano / microSD) slot which means that you can either use dual sims or one sim with one microsd card. A microsd card cannot be used if you are using two sims or vice versa.
S8 also sports a Fingerprint sensor at the back and comes with DTS audio. The device is powered by a 3000 mAh battery which supports fast charging.
It also comes with 3D Touch and can sense three levels of force including “touch” “tap” and “press”. These three levels of 3D touch brings the following features:
