Google have released a new Camera app at the Play Store.
Unlike OEMs like Motorola, who restrict their Camera apps to their own products, the Google Camera can pretty much be installed on any Android device running Android KitKat.
The Google Camera App has some great features such as the Photo Sphere which lets you take images with a 360º view. The camera app has a huge shutter button, to make it easy to take photos. The app also supports Panoroma mode for wide angle shots.
But the best feature of the app, is the Lens Blur mode. The app also has a little tutorial on how to take a photo with Lens blur. You have to hold your device about 5 feet away and focus on the object, snap a picture, and then move the device upwards slowly, while still centered on the object. After taking the picture, you can swipe from the right f the screen to get to the app’s gallery, where you can see the lens blur option for the photo you took. You can use it to focus on the object’s background or the foreground to make it look sarper or blurry. This also works for the front camera self portrait aka selfie.

Of course, the app isn’t compatible with devices that lack a rear camera, such as the Nexus 7 2012.
