Google could be prepping the successor to the Pixel 3a and 3a XL. That’s what these Pixel 4a leaked renders tell us.
The Pixel 4a will be equipped with a 5.8-inch display that has a punch-hole in the top left corner of the screen, for the selfie lens. The panel is surrounded by a frame, and an earpiece is placed just below the forehead. Speaking of which, the lean forehead/earpiece design throws into doubt whether Project Soli Radar will be supported on the Pixel 4a. The chin while still thick, is narrower compared to what the 4a’s predecessor had.
There are dual speaker grilles on the bottom, which sit either side of a USB Type-C port. But fear not, the Google Pixel 4a leaked renders confirm that the 3.5mm headphone jack is present on the device, it is at the top of the frame. This isn’t surprising considering the Pixel 3a had the audio port too.
The volume keys are placed on the right edge of the frame, along with an orange power button.
The Pixel 4a leaked photos indicate that the device has a physical fingerprint scanner on the back panel. There is a square camera bump which is similar to the Pixel 4, but disappointingly it only has a single camera and an LED flash which are aligned on diagonal corners.
According to 91Mobiles, the phone will measure 144.2 x 69.5 x 8.2 mm. Though the Pixel 4a leaked renders show a White version of the device, the report suggests that the phone may also be available in Black, and Purple colours.
Rumours suggest that the Pixel 4a could be powered by a Snapdragon 700 series chipset (with either the 730 or 765 for 5G mobile networks), along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage. If we are to go by last year’s launch pattern, we can expect Google to unveil the new phone at the I/O 2020 conference. The Mountain View company didn’t launch the Pixel 4 in India, will the seemingly more affordable Pixel 4a make it to our shores?
