Google has confirmed that the Pixel Fold is coming. The first foldable device from the search giant will be announced at the Google I/O developers conference on May 10th.
This is what the phone looks like, as seen in a video teaser shared by the company at the Google Store website. It looks similar to the Oppo Find N. The Google Pixel Fold has a large camera bar running across the rear panel, housing triple cameras and an LED Flash module.
The Google Pixel Fold is expected to be powered by an in-house Tensor G2 processor, and should run on Android 13 out of the box. A leaked specs sheet (courtesy OnLeaks and HowToiSolve) hints that the foldable gadget will have 12 GB of RAM, a SIM card tray for mobile network connectivity. The device will not have a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and will rely on a USB Type-C port for data transfer, charging, and audio playback.
Speaking of which, the Pixel Fold is said to have dual speakers, one at the top, and one at the bottom.
The phone will be equipped with a 7.69 inches display when folded. The cover display on the other hand is about 5.79-inches in size. It is unclear whether the device will support a stylus pen. The device will come in 2 colour options: Silver and Black.
Rumours say that the foldable device could weigh around 283g, and reportedly measures around 158.7 x 139.7 x 5.7mm. A prior leak suggests that the Pixel Fold could be priced at $1,799 in the U.S.
The Mountain View company will launch the Pixel Fold alongside the Google Pixel 7A and the Pixel Tablet. The devices are expected to ship in June.
