We have reported multiple times, the evidences of Google Play Music’s imminent arrival in India. And now, it has happened. Google Play Music has been launched in India.
You can use the Play Music app on your Android phone to shop for music, or listen to playlists. Or the web browser version, which can be accessed from https://play.google.com/music/
Here are some screenshots which we took from the app:
And some from the web version:
Download Google Play Music app for free, and start listening to your favorite songs
[appbox googleplay com.google.android.music]
Here is a link for Foo Fighter’s Saint Cecilia EP which you can listen to for free on Play Music.
Note: You will need to verify your Country of residence by adding a valid Debit Card or Credit Card, to start using Google Play Music. There will be no charges for this, and we can confirm the same. But these only work with Debit Cards of private banks like HDFC, ICICI, Citibank etc which have International transactions enabled. So don’t expect your OTP/VBV cards to work.
Once you have done that you can use Google Play Music normally, you will still need to use cards for purchases, as it does not accept Google Play Balance for some reason.
You can optionally install the Play Music Chrome extension to upload your offline library to the Cloud and listen to your music on the go.
