Earlier today. we reported that Motorola are coming up with a smartwatch which is scheduled to be released later this year.
Now, images of an early prototype of a Google Smartwatch manufactured by Motorola have been leaked.
The images leaked by Android Police, show the watch which was supposedly made by Motorola last year, under the official codename, GEM. (What no Nexus?)
The overall design looks far from impressive, and considering it was a “prototype” we can forgive them.
Here are the leaked images, have at it:
The images show a back button on the bottom left corner of the watch, a volume rocker above the screen, and a USB connector. AndroidPolice speculates that the 3 bit mode shown in one of the photos, could be a reference to run apps in 8-bit color, (3 bits of red, 3 bits of green, and 2 bits of blue).
A few days ago, we reported that Google’s Smartwatch manufactured by LG would be unveiled at the I/O Conference in June. This raises a few questions. So, will GEM be unveiled by Motorola this year? Or will they launch a completely new smartwatch?
We will have to wait and “watch”. See what I did there?
