Misplacing a phone or losing it isn’t uncommon. It happens to everyone, even to the brightest of us.
That’s why we use various device locating apps and services to protect our precious smartphones.
And Google is well aware of this problem and planning to launch a new service Android Device Manager, which will help users to find their missing device.
This service will help you to ring your phone loudly even if it is in silent mode and locate it on a map, in the worst case scenario you remotely wipe your phone.
The Android Device Manager will be available for all devices running on Froyo and above, i.e. Android 2.2+. That includes tablets as well. Yay!
They are even going to launch an android app to help you track and manage your devices. Google has been taking user security very seriously after all the patches for the Masterkey bug started making the news. They have even patched up the play store recently to protect older devices which run on Gingerbread from malicious apps.
Android Device Manager will be released later this month. We will be covering the launch of the service and the app, at our blog.
