SwiftKey has announced that it has released a new app for Android devices.
No it is not a keyboard this time, instead it is a launcher called Hexy Launcher.
As the name suggests, the app features Hexagons. To be more precise, it uses hexagonal tiles to display all your apps in one screen. You can just pan around the screen by placing a finger and dragging it around the screen.
Hexy Launcher supports Widgets too, but it is limited to one screen. You can move, and resize widgets easily. But you can only view Widgets by tapping on the button on the bottom right corner. Hexy Launcher has no settings or preferences. The launcher has a search bar, using which you can find apps quickly. By default, Hexy centers on your most used apps.

However Hexy Launcher’s centering of most used apps didn’t work well for me, and I find it annoying to have to tap a button to view widgets. It certainly needs to offer some customization. But since it is a product of the SwiftKey Greenhouse, where apps are tested. It is possible that Swiftkey could launch a full fledged launcher in the future.
