One of the popular messaging clients in India, Hike has just announced a major upgrade in the form of Hike 5.0 which brings a lot of new features and introduces the Hike Wallet making it the first messaging app to launch payments. Hike 5.0 brings some new features such as colourful App Themes (total of 11 Themes) based on a combination of colour and pattern, including a night theme or Night mode and an all new Magic Selfie feature.This new Night theme can automatically turn on every at the predefined time of 8 PM to 6 AM if enabled from the Settings.
The update also brings back the popular Timeline feature again which now comes with text, image, link sharing and comments.Using the Magic Selfie feature, Hike’s camera smoothens your skin and look better.
Hike Wallet brings you features such as Free & instant money transfer via Bank-to-bank via UPI and Wallet to Wallet. This feature works even if their friends aren’t on Hike. For those who don’t actively use a bank account, Hike allows you to send and receive money with your friends through the Wallet.
It also introduces a feature called “Blue packets” which can be sent to an individual or group of friends. It also lets you send some random money or an equal amount of money to your friends in a group. These blue packets expire in 24 hours and get refunded if not claimed by the receiver.
You can also recharge your phones or pay postpaid bills, using the Hike wallet from right inside the app.
With the launch of Hike 5.0, they have also reduced the app size to just 25 MB from the earlier 40 MB and has also added 128-bit SSL encryption. This new Hike 5.0 update will be rolling out to all users on Android on June 25 automatically through the Google Play store.
