Honor India has promised to roll out the official Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for Honor 4x in April 2016 which is already passed. There is some good news though. Honor India has announced that Marshmallow update in Honor 4X will be provided soon and the users can register for getting the “experience version” OTA update. Honestly we are not sure of what the company mean by an “experience version”, yet we believe it is a Beta build or the release candidate build of Android 6.0 Marshmallow that can be tested by few, before they roll out the stable OTA update to everyone.

You can register for getting the “experience version” of Android 6.0 Marshmallow for Honor 4X by visiting this page, and need to give the information such as phone model number, the software version (OS Build number), IMEI numbers and email address. After applying, they will approve it and your device will be eligible to receive the OTA (over the air) update when they roll it out.
Honor 4X was launched in October 2014 with Android 4.4.2 Kitkat/ Android 5.0 Lollipop. We can expect that it will take at least 3-4 weeks of beta testing or release candidate testing before they roll it out to every Honor 4X user. This simply mean that most users won’t be getting the Marshmallow update even this month and it may arrive sometime in July 2016. Stay tuned at Androidpure and we will keep you updated.
