Huawei has announced that it will be updating, the latest budget phone in its Honor sub-brand, the Honor 5X to Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
The news comes through a blog, which reports that the Chinese OEM told it about the firmware’s roadmap.
The Honor 5X, unveiled at CES 2016, a week ago, will also be getting the company’s EMUI 4.0 (Emotion UI), the same as the one which runs on the current flagship device, the Huawei Mate 8. There is no word yet on an ETA for the update.
The Honor 5X is also set to get some security updates regularly, though it is not clear if it will be delivered every month. For more details about the technical specifications of the phone, read our previous write up.
