A Honor 8A TENAA listing has been spotted, and it reveals that the design of the device. This is what the upcoming mid-range phone looks like.
The Honor 8A sports a 6.088-inches IPS display with a HD+ resolution, and a waterdrop notch. The phone runs on Android 9 Pie, with EMUI on top. The device is powered by an octa-core 2.3GHz processor (probably Huawei’s HiSilicon Kirin 710) with 3GB of RAM.
The phone will be available in 32GB and 64GB storage variants, and will support up to 512GB of expandable memory via a microSD card slot.
The optics on the Honor 8A comprises of a 13MP rear camera, and an 8MP selfie lens. If the HD+ display isn’t a clue that this is a mid-range phone, the lack of a secondary rear camera certainly is. Also, the phone doesn’t have a fingerprint scanner. The Honor 8A TENAA listing hints that the device will be available in 4 colours: Black, Blue, Gold and Red.

The Honor 8A has a metal frame, and seems to have a glossy finish for 1/4th of the the back panel, while the rest is made of plastic, similar to the Honor 8X’s two-tone back panel.
