Huawei has scheduled a launch event on June 6 to unveil a new Honor Play smartphone with “Breakthrough Technology”. Apart from the Honor Play smartphone, the company will also announce Honor 9i on the same day i.e. June 6th, 2018. The announcement comes from the official Huawei Honor Weibo handle which released a teaser for the same.
The launch event teaser released by the official handle also gives a sneak peak of the Honor 9i. The teaser image shows the device held by a Model which reveals the iPhone X like notch at the top of the display and narrow bezels at the sides. The bottom portion of the device is hidden and you can expect bezels at the bottom of the display.
This new Huawei Honor 9i with a notch at the top of the display must be an upgrade over the existing Honor 9i launched last year.Honor 9i sports 5.9-inch Full HD+ 18:9 screen with 2160 x 1080 pixels resolution, 2.5D curved glass display, powered by Octa-Core Kirin 659 processor with MaliT830-MP2 GPU along with 4 GB of RAM. It comes with 64 GB of internal storage along with support for expandable storage and runs on Android 7.0 (Nougat) based operating system with EMUI 5.1 on top of it.
In terms of camera, it comes with a dual camera module at rear consisting of 16MP primary sensor with dual-tone LED flash & 2MP camera secondary sensor, while on the front it features another dual camera module at rear consisting of 13MP primary sensor with soft LED flash & 2MP camera secondary sensor.
In terms of dimensions, it measures 156.2 × 75.2 × 7.5 mm and weighs 164 grams. It comes with support for 4G LTE along with VoLTE.
The phone is backed by a battery of 3340mAh.
