The Honor Play has been launched in India like we said it would be. AndroidPure was at the venue today, in New Delhi, and we have some pictures from the launch event.
But first, let’s talk about the technical specifications of the phone. The Honor Play is equipped with a massive 6.30-inch Full HD+ LCD panel with a notch display design, which has a screen resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels, an aspect ratio of 19:5:9, and has a 2.5D curved glass.
The phone runs on Android Oreo 8.1 with EMUI 8.2, and is powered by Huawei’s octa-core Kirin 970 processor and will be available with 4GB and 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM. The graphics are handled by a Mali-G72 MP12 GPU. The device has 64GB of internal storage, which you can expand up to 256GB via the microSD card slot, in the Hybrid Dual SIM tray.
The Honor Play has a rear placed fingerprint sensor for unlocking the phone. The phone has a 3.5mm audio jack and supports 7.1-channel Histen audio. The camera department on the Honor Play comprises of dual rear cameras with a 16MP lens with a f/2.2 aperture, PDAF and LED flash and a secondary 2MP lens with an f/2.4 aperture. The selfie lens on the device is a 16MP camera with a f/2.0 aperture.
A 3750 mah battery is embedded in the Honor Play and supports fast charging over USB Type-C. Other connectivity options in the phone include support for Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS and NFC. The device weighs at 176g and is 157.91×74.27×7.84mm in terms of dimensions.

The Honor Play has been priced at Rs.19,999 in India for the 4GB RAM variant, while the 6GB RAM variant will cost Rs. 23,999. The phone will be sold exclusively via Amazon India, and the first sale starts on August 6th, i.e. today, at 4PM.
